Organic sourcing

Almonds and bananas are good to source organically if you can; almonds for their potential pesticide exposure and bananas to support sustainable farming practices.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds
  • 6 Medjool dates
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Method

  1. Soak the raw almonds in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse them before using.
  2. Pit the Medjool dates and chop them roughly.
  3. In a blender, combine the soaked almonds, almond milk, and chopped dates.
  4. Add the ripe banana, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ice cubes to the blender.
  5. Blend all the ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy.
  6. Taste and adjust flavors if needed, blending again if necessary.

Notes

  • Add a scoop of protein powder for extra nutrition.
  • For a colder smoothie, use frozen banana instead.
  • Substitute almond milk with any plant-based milk alternative you prefer.
