Organic sourcing
Almonds and bananas are good to source organically if you can; almonds for their potential pesticide exposure and bananas to support sustainable farming practices.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup raw almonds
- 6 Medjool dates
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup ice cubes
Method
- Soak the raw almonds in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse them before using.
- Pit the Medjool dates and chop them roughly.
- In a blender, combine the soaked almonds, almond milk, and chopped dates.
- Add the ripe banana, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ice cubes to the blender.
- Blend all the ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust flavors if needed, blending again if necessary.
Notes
- Add a scoop of protein powder for extra nutrition.
- For a colder smoothie, use frozen banana instead.
- Substitute almond milk with any plant-based milk alternative you prefer.
