Pears benefit most from being organic due to their presence on the EWG Dirty Dozen list, ensuring fewer pesticide residues.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe pears
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup runny honey
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Halve the pears lengthwise and remove the cores with a melon baller or small spoon.
- Place the pear halves cut side up in a baking dish.
- Drizzle the lemon juice over the pear halves.
- In a small bowl, mix the walnuts with half of the honey and the cinnamon.
- Spoon the walnut mixture into the hollowed centers of the pears.
- Drizzle the remaining honey over the stuffed pears.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the pears are tender.
- Serve warm, optionally drizzled with additional honey.
Notes
- Substitute almonds for walnuts if preferred.
- Use maple syrup in place of honey for a different flavor.
