Organic sourcing

Turmeric and ginger are ideal to source organic due to potential pesticide residues conventional spices may carry. Opting for organic coconut milk can also ensure no additives.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp honey (or maple syrup, optional)

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the coconut milk with ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger.
  2. Whisk in the honey (or maple syrup) if using for a touch of sweetness.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once simmering, add a pinch of ground black pepper and stir well to incorporate.
  5. After 2-3 minutes of simmering, remove the saucepan from heat.
  6. Use a whisk or a milk frother to create some froth on top of the latte, if desired.
  7. Pour the golden turmeric latte into two cups and serve warm.

Notes

  • For added creaminess, use full-fat coconut milk.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your preference or omit it altogether.
  • Garnish with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
