Organic sourcing
Turmeric and ginger are ideal to source organic due to potential pesticide residues conventional spices may carry. Opting for organic coconut milk can also ensure no additives.
Ingredients
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 tsp honey (or maple syrup, optional)
Method
- In a small saucepan, combine the coconut milk with ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger.
- Whisk in the honey (or maple syrup) if using for a touch of sweetness.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Once simmering, add a pinch of ground black pepper and stir well to incorporate.
- After 2-3 minutes of simmering, remove the saucepan from heat.
- Use a whisk or a milk frother to create some froth on top of the latte, if desired.
- Pour the golden turmeric latte into two cups and serve warm.
Notes
- For added creaminess, use full-fat coconut milk.
- Adjust the sweetness to your preference or omit it altogether.
- Garnish with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
