What it meansThe Swiss organic farmers' federation mark. Mandatory on any product sold as '有机' (organic) in mainland China.France-based independent certifier operating in 130+ countries. One of the world's largest organic + cosmetics + textile certifiers. Does NOT
  • Switzerland is outside the EU — the Knospe is recognised by the EU under the Switzerland-EU equivalence agreement, but not by USDA without further certification.
  • Imported organic foods must be re-certified under the Chinese standard — overseas certifications alone are not accepted for the 有机 label.
  • Ecocert is the certifier, not the standard — the actual rules come from whichever organic regulation the product is certified under.
