What it meansThe mandatory mark for any pre-packaged organic food sold in the EU. Covers the full supply chain from organic fibre to finished garment, with environmental AND social criteria.Australia's largest organic certifier, accredited under the Australian National Standard for Organic and Bio-Dynamic Produce. The bud-and-leaf logo is the most-seen organic mark in Australian supermarkets.Finland's national organic 'Sun Mark' (Aurinkomerkki). Operated by the Finnish Food Authority. Does NOT
  • Doesn't ban the natural pesticides allowed under the regulation (copper sulphate, spinosad).
  • Doesn't certify processed-food additives beyond the EU's permitted list.
  • Doesn't cover non-textile components (zips, buttons, prints) beyond the chemical-restriction list.
  • Australia has no single mandatory organic mark — ACO is the dominant one, but NASAA, OFC, and others also certify.
  • The Sun Mark is awarded only to fully Finnish supply chains — imports use the EU Leaf alone.
