Stricter than baseline Fairtrade on labour conditions; often paired with an organic mark on the same product. The East African regional organic mark, under the East Africa Organic Products Standard (EAOPS). Used across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi. Standards are stricter than the UK government's baseline (which still mirrors EU 2018/848 post-Brexit). Does NOT
  • Doesn't itself mean organic — pair with an organic mark for the full picture.
  • PGS-based — the inspection model is community peer-review rather than third-party. Strong for domestic markets, less recognised by the EU/USA than third-party schemes.
  • Logo is trademarked — not a free-licence mark.
  • Cosmetics and textiles are covered under separate Korean schemes, not this mark.
