What it meansFinland's national organic 'Sun Mark' (Aurinkomerkki). Operated by the Finnish Food Authority. In practice most Finnish organic packaging carries both Luomu and the EU Leaf — they certify to the same baseline.South America's largest organic certifier. IBD certifies under Brazilian, USDA NOP, EU, and JAS standards — a single-stop certifier widely used across Latin America. The federal Canadian organic standard, mandatory on any agricultural product sold across provincial borders or imported as 'organic'.Argentina's national organic mark under SENASA (National Food Safety and Quality Service). Implemented as a label in December 2012 under Law 25.127 (1999).

Guarantees
  • EU baseline organic (Finnish supply chains end-to-end).
  • Annual on-site inspection by the Finnish Food Authority.
  • Multiple-standard certification: Brazilian (SisOrg), USDA NOP, EU, JAS, Demeter.
  • Annual on-site inspection.
  • ≥95% organic ingredients (single-ingredient products: 100%).
  • No synthetic pesticides, no GMOs, no irradiation.
  • Annual third-party certification under the Canada Organic Regime.
  • Compliance with Argentine Law 25.127.
  • Annual on-site inspection by SENASA-accredited certifier.
  • Recognised as equivalent to EU + USDA organic under bilateral agreements.
Does NOT
  • The Sun Mark is awarded only to fully Finnish supply chains — imports use the EU Leaf alone.
  • A single product may carry IBD plus a country-specific organic mark — IBD itself isn't the regulatory mark in any of those markets, just the accredited certifier.
  • Provincial sales-only operations are not legally required to carry it (though many do voluntarily).
  • Domestic recognition only — exports use the buyer's national mark (USDA, EU Leaf) under equivalence.
