What it meansAn EU-based natural-and-organic cosmetics certification. • Direct government control (not a private body) — the unusual Danish model that drives high consumer trust.

Does NOT
  • Mark is trademark-protected.
  • Outside Denmark, retailers usually rely on the EU Leaf rather than the Ø.
  • A single product may carry IBD plus a country-specific organic mark — IBD itself isn't the regulatory mark in any of those markets, just the accredited certifier.
  • Mutual recognition with the US, EU, and Canada applies to specific product categories — check each agreement before importing.
